They have created multiple custom reports at our request, migrated from standard VAN based EDI to the more cost effective AS2 and are moving forward to implement RF bar code scanning with us. ABECAS Insight uses the latest Windows technologies as a three-tiered, object-oriented system.
The programs have been developed using Borland's Delphi®. Using Windows technologies, such as
Microsoft SQL Server 2000®, an advanced client/server environment has been created that hosts
the ABECAS Insight Application Server. AN API is available for interfacing with other programs or
for user developed programs.
Inventory tracking is a critical requirement for WMS. Inventory status must always be available and
current, broken down by item, lot or sublot as required. By flagging each transaction by "stage",
where it is in the process, the inventory is maintained by the quantity in the possession of the warehouse,
by pending receipts/shipments, and by receipts/shipments outside of the usual plannng period of the
warehouse. Unavailable inventory, such as damaged items, customs holds, QA issues and reserved inventory,
are separately tracked. This information is available to the customer as printed, faxed or e-mailed
reports, and over the web. In addition, a complete breakdown can be provided of transactions between
two dates accounting for the reported inventory.
Our online Web Access is available for entering or updating receipts and shipments, up to the point where
the customer can assign inventory to an order. Customers may also inquire into the status of orders,
available inventory and transaction history. This includes the ability to print reports. Each customer can
customize their view of the data. This data is then brought into Insight and waits for a CSR in our
facility to approve the transaction.
