Rebuilding Together Fox Valley
On Saturday, May 1st armed with a team of over 40 volunteers WOW Logistics participated in and was a major sponsor of Rebuilding Together Fox Valley to help an Menasha, WI woman named Rita. Rita is an elderly woman who lost her husband in October. There were many things that needed to be done to her home in order for her to continue to live in the only home she and her late husband Eugene ever owned...they lived there together for 41 years!
Team WOW worked from 8:00am until 4:00pm and did lots of painting, landscaping, built a ramp on the back of her home and a new porch on the front of her home. In addition, we also helped the family clean out the basement (there were canned goods from 1972)! Rita has not been able to access the basement for several years. Unfortunately, that is where her laundry room was...so a team of skilled workers transformed the bathroom and a small bedroom into one large bath/laundry room on the first floor. Her home will also be getting all new flooring. In total, there will be over 600 hours of donated labor in this one project.
That's not all...In addition to Rita's home, 26 other homes throughout the Fox Valley/Appleton area were transformed on Saturday. Rebuilding Together Fox Valley had over 1,000 volunteers out on that day!
Thanks to our WOW Logistics local employees that donated their time: Amy DeBruin, Matt Oswald, Scott Gleason, Jamie Wally, Jamie Dutter, Lisa Van Straten, Angel Hoen, Marsha Glatz, Scott Rogers, Ryan O'Leary, Stephanie Holtorp, Rich Frederick and Freddy Weidner.
2010 marks the third year that WOW Logistics participated in and has been a major sponsor for Rebuilding Together Fox Valley. Rebuilding Together is a nonprofit, volunteer organization that unites individuals and companies to improve the lives of others by joining forces to complete home repairs for neighbors throughout the country.
