From Warehousing Of
Wisconsin to WOW
In 1977, Harold Schiferl, Don Utschig and two other partners formed
Warehousing of Wisconsin and construction began on the first warehouse of 108,000 square feet in
Wisconsin Rapids, WI. This first warehouse, which also housed the corporate offices until 1993,
would eventually see six expansions and grow to the 472,500 square feet that stands there today.
Over the years, WOW has expanded not only this warehouse but built and leased facilities throughout
Wisconsin, Idaho and Illinois. Warehousing of Wisconsin, or WOW as it was often referred to as,
became a name synonymous with quality and trust by the paper industry. Building on that reputation,
WOW added refrigerated warehouse space in 1985 in Schofield, WI and to-date has grown those coolers
to encompass five locations and nearly half a million square feet that primarily services the
dairy industry.
Presently, with over 7 million square feet of ambient, refrigerated and freezer
space in 25 distribution centers used for public, contract and lease warehousing, WOW services over
300 customers in 60 different industries in our multi-temperature facilities. As we move to the future,
WOW will continue to invest in technology, training and new locations to cater to our customers' ever
changing needs.
